Today in our video link with
Russia, the discussion of technology came out. Andrei asked the question “How
does technology affect school?” I feel that technology is what you make it when
it comes to education. Andrei was concerned that it affected attendance in
larger lectures because the students can receive the information via the
internet. In my case, technology helps me. My classes are fairly hard for me,
so going to the lecture combined with the information I can find on the internet
help me process the curriculum in multiple ways. I also feel that technology in
social groups is what you make it as well. For me it helps me keep in touch
with old friends from North Carolina, and for others it can hinder their
ability to talk to people in real life. I have noticed that a lot of guys my
ages text women for a week or two before they ever hang out in person. That
concept always seemed weird to me. I think that it can also stops some from meeting new people. For example, before class starts instead of the students talking to each other, everyone plays on their phone.
Cheers,
