Technology as we know it has skyrocketed the past 10 years or so.  I think that new technology can be a great thing to have and use if we don't over use it.  It is a great way to communicate with people and not having to be exactly next to them or even in the same country.  There are some people however that over use it and sometimes it becomes an addiction.  I think a good thing about technology and social groups is that is it a great way of communicating with people as what we are going to do with Facebook with our Russian video chats.  There are downfalls I believe and that now we can all text and do Facebook it is limiting our face to face interaction tremendously.  Twenty years ago students didn't have texting and when waiting for a class you had no choice but to sit there quietly or interact with others around them.  In todays society you see everybody waiting for class on there new iPads or phones texting people they already know.  People today are not trying to meet new people because there nose is always in there phones.  Having a cell phone should not mean we should not still interact with others face to face.

There is a point in this video where a 13 year old girl texting the girl next to her when she should put the phone away and talk face to face.
