One of our discussions we had last week was based on power and priviledge. I think in the video post with jimmy kimmel i posted really helps to explain it. Power is something that people have over a group or individual. It isn't a right and sometimes it isn't earned. Different groups have power over others based on circumstances. For instance, in the video I posted jimmy has power over the kids because he is older and knows how to take advantage of the kids. I think this is the circumstances for most cases where power is used to benefit one of the groups. Priviledge on the other hand is something earned. I think people are given the power through hard work or some other means of proving their way to the top.
